THIRD ORDER ♛ ANONYMOUS TEXT
[Logan has been the King of Albion for twelve years. His reign is at an end, however - his sister staged a coup and will take the throne as soon as he returns to Albion. Logan isn't upset with her - if anything, he's relieved that he no longer has to deal with everything. He's relieved that he doesn't have to face down the threat of incoming darkness - a threat he's known about for four years and hasn't been able to stop. He's confident that his sister can handle the throne, but it isn't a position he ever would have wanted to put her in. He does care about her in his own stunted way, after all.
It's been nearly eleven years since Logan's mother, the previous Queen, died. She was the one who united Albion under a monarchy and ruled for fifty years of peace and prosperity. Yes, there were issues - any country with 6.5 million people is bound to have them - but she handled them all as best she could and will most likely go down in history as a benevolent, wonderful monarch. She would be disappointed in him; Logan's positive of that much. He started his rule as a monarch dedicated to his people, but circumstances drove him to become a tyrant.
He's spent the day being far more subdued than usual, keeping to himself and occasionally examining the 'Gear, but it takes hours for Logan to finally get up the courage to actually post to the network, even anonymously. He's adapted to this world far better than he ever thought he would, and now that he has adapted, he's finding that he rather likes Johto. He doesn't have the same responsibilities and expectations placed on him. He's free. It's not something he ever would have thought he wanted back home, but it's something he's finding that he's desperately needed this entire time.]
How do you deal with failure? How do you deal with not living up to the expectations set for you?
I believe there are some monarchs or rulers here. How do you deal with the people of your nation despising you for what you've done, even if what you've done was for their own good?
[...He's kind of the most obvious anon. Just let him pretend, alright.]

I do understand that - what I'm having difficulties with is ensuring that the people will trust me when the time comes. I have faced this threat before and I can combat it. Perhaps I haven't gone about things in the best way possible to gain their trust, but if they want to live, they don't have a choice. They don't understand just how great this threat is.

Though I don't see the point in all this "I would rather not put her through that." You're making it sound like everyone in your nation is going to have to deal with this whatever-it-is that you are all having to deal with. Is she going to have to deal with it eventually or not?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. It was something I had hoped to protect her from, but she's proven that she doesn't do well with being protected. She will get herself involved one way or another, I'm certain of that. I suppose it would be best to help her prepare for it as best I can.
[...Assuming she'll even accept his help...]

Not so much a greater evil.
More like a greater stupid.
But you get the idea. She did a lot of annoying things at first. Tried to remove me from power. (That was a bad idea.) And there were a lot of other things that she did that I still haven't forgiven her for. Probably never will. But she was a good ally against the stupid thing, and that's what matters.

I can't say my situation is exactly the same; I don't hold any of her actions against her. She did what she thought was necessary for the country. I'm rather proud of her for all she's accomplished.
no subject
Or, well, maybe not so lucky. It just put her back where she started at first. But she was lucky in the end.
Anyway, there's a story behind all that. It's just really long, and really idiotic in parts. And it involves a potato. I'm not sure how much you want me to tell you, but I don't see why not.

[omg where is his popcorn]

She didn't like that. And then she murdered me because she didn't want to do her job.
I got better. Eventually. But it's not too easy to get over just being murdered like that. So I made her do more science, and everything was going pretty well.
[After I fixed the lab up. Because who would have thought murdering the one in charge of maintaining it would lead to it not being maintained? (That's sarcasm, by the way. Most people here can't tell for some reason.)]
Anyway, she tried to kill me again, using some moron she found in the labs for help. She put the moron in power, and because with great power apparently comes great stupidity for the moron in question, he shoved my brain in a potato and proceeded to nearly blow up the labs.
That's all dealt with now. Obviously. And I don't have to worry about either the girl or the moron anymore. We fought him together. I got to use heavy machinery. It was...pretty cool, actually. Even if I was still a potato at the time.
[...she does not seem to realize that that probably raised more questions than it answered, um]

...and why is it amusing him so much oh my god you might have actually gotten a smirk out of him]
I've heard that there are some people here who weren't human to begin with. Are you one of them? No humans I know could "get better" after being murdered.
[Let's... start there?]
no subject
I'm not human, but I know a lot about you. Studied you and all.

no subject
Technically speaking, anyway.
no subject
I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about.

Back home there were numerous monsters - there were several humanoid ones and then there were others that were far more massive and formidable. There are creatures that can possess others that look like balls of light, as well as creatures that look like shadows.
I don't believe you're a monster, however. You certainly seem much smarter than any of the creatures in my world.
no subject
As it is, I know a lot about a lot of things, but I've never heard of anything like what you've described. We have balls of light, but those are High-Energy Pellets. While they will likely try to kill you, that is through no fault of their own; they'll sooner vaporize than possess you because they are, in fact, not living, and that's what they were designed to do.
What we have in my world are humans and AI, more or less. At least, that's what's within the Center. Are you at least familiar with any of that? Created sentience. Robotics. Things like that.

[...okay, she's going to have to send another text after that one; it will likely make her sound like a tremendous womanchild, but.]
Do you have magic where you came from?
no subject
We do, but only Heroes can use it. It's not very common, but it is impressive.
no subject
[She'll hold back on the other questions for now. Like "What do they do? What sort of magic do they use? Do you know any, are they here, and can she test on them???"]
no subject
Well, yes and no. They're obviously capable of using magic and they have other differences - longer lifespans, the ability to survive any fall, the ability to heal themselves over time - but they appear human and don't really seem all that different at first glance. My mother was a Hero, as is my younger sister.
