SECOND ORDER ♛ VIDEO
[The video opens up to a Dratini egg. Standing around it are a few Pokémon: a Torchic, a Vulpix, and a Staravia. The trio seem curious about the egg, as if they've never seen it before.]
How do you get an egg to hatch?
[The question comes from somewhere off-screen. The video swivels to look up at Logan, who is frowning at the egg. He doesn't seem to notice the camera is pointed at him.]
I've had this one for well over a month. It doesn't even show signs of hatching.
[And the one Reaver got hatched quite some time ago! Clearly this is an exercise in Logan's shitty luck. Then again, looking at those unevolved Pokémon it's quite possible that he just sucks at this whole "Pokémon training" thing. Or a horrible combination of that and shit luck. That's probably it.]
I have kept the egg with me at all times. What else does it require?
[He hasn't even dropped it! Come on, that has got to count for something!]
I also have a question in regards to evolution. Is it possible for a Pokémon to simply decide not to evolve? I have two that should have evolved by now but haven't for... some reason I can't figure out.
[Logan turns a bit, realizing that the camera is focused on him, and gestures to the Torchic. He retrieves the 'Gear from the cameraman, a sulking Snivy, and gestures to it as well.]
I would appreciate any advice on either subject. Thank you.
[And with that, he shuts the feed off.]

[.........DON'T SAY BARRY, PLEASE DON'T SAY BARRY]
Flying-types; they're weak against Rock and Electric-types, if memory serves.
[...But seriously, how do you not know this? Did you just avoid the gym entirely? It says the specialty right on the sign!!]
no subject
Is that so? Perhaps I'll attempt sometime, then, should the urge strike. Do tell me if it's a challenge at all.
[yeah he's just going to go challenge some professional battlers if he feels like they're worth his time one day

This is rumored to be our way home and you're not even taking it seriously?
[SIGH.....]

[While the usual lightness hasn't left Reaver's tone any, there's a bit of an odd look in his eyes; it's far more attentive than the haughty, distantly amused sort of look he usually gives people. He still doesn't seem overly scrutinizing or even particularly invested in what's going on as a whole, but still, this is at least something of an indication that he's taking the conversation seriously - or he's taking this part of it seriously, anyway.]
I've known many, many desperate men in my time, you know - normally strong, rational men who were suddenly facing an ending that was quite inescapable. Whether that ending was enslavement, imprisonment, death...none of that really matters; what matters is how they responded to it. And wouldn't you know it, the first thing that most of them did was try to bargain. Either with me, should I be the one holding their fate in my hands, or with the circumstances themselves.
I've found that in desperate times, desperate men don't like believing there's nothing they can do. So they'll take reason and throw it rather neatly out the window, in favor of anything that looks like a way out.
If you can bring me proof somehow that these..."badges" do anything to send anyone home - any proof at all! - then believe me, I'll do everything in my power to obtain them. But until then? I have no reason to believe they do any more than any other object one can obtain here.
no subject
I suppose I can understand that mindset. I would prefer to believe that there is some way to return home and I have the means to obtain it.
[It's probably naive of him. But it won't hurt anyone, so at least let him cling to that belief?]
If there is proof, I'll find it.
[But judging from his tone, he's pretty sure there isn't.]

Logan isn't the only one familiar with bargaining through desperation, after all.]
By all means, Your Majesty - don't allow me to stop you. I'm well aware that there's business to attend to, back in Albion...some decidedly more unpleasant than the rest, perhaps, but I suppose there's no sense in putting it off.
no subject
[That's a lie and the lack of eye contact and conviction in his tone should make that clear enough. He has no idea what's going to happen now; Logan was in control of everything just hours before he arrived here in Johto. Now his sibling is in control and he has no idea what will become of him. He doubts his sibling will execute him, but it's likely Logan will be exiled from Albion for everything he's done.]
[He's terrified of that, but there's no sense staying here to avoid consequences for his actions. Besides, he already misses Albion.]
Even if this isn't the way to return home, there must be something people have overlooked.
[He doesn't want to believe that he's trapped here.]

Reaver is very aware of the implications, just as he's aware of the lie before them; he really can't say that he's too inclined to follow up on either of them. The last time he had said anything that even half-encouraged Logan to open up had resulted in the man confiding in him, and while he supposes that amount of trust being placed in him is something that he should find flattering, the fact of the matter is that he doesn't. It's not that he dislikes Logan's company any - he wouldn't continue to seek it out at all if he disliked it, after all - but more that he doesn't know what to do with it when Logan attempts to have some sort of Deep and Meaningful with him; sympathy has never been his strong suit, after all, nor has discussing Issues of any sort, and he's rather content to ignore all of that in favor of simply not caring.
This situation really isn't any different. Ugh, Logan, can't you be like the rest of the sane people and just write emo entries in your blog or something?]
Of course. And should anything be found, well, it's as I just told you - everything in my power will be done in order to ensure our immediate return, should you so desire.
[The statement is accompanied with a brief, slight bow, one gloved hand pressed lightly against his chest; he's smirking quite a bit as he comes out of it, however - it's not mocking, exactly, but it's not entirely sincere, either. Par for the course, really.]
no subject
Excellent. I would expect nothing less from you.
[That... might actually have a bit of an odd tone to it - Logan normally doesn't use sarcasm - he's very straightforward in what he says. But there's definitely something there that's almost teasing; the status quo has been reset, and frankly, he appreciates it. There's only so much he can be genuine about before he starts getting horribly paranoid and anxious. The last thing he needs is some sort of anxiety attack or something.]

You know that I'm always more than willing to ensure that you're satisfied.
[IF
YOU GET
HIS DRIFT]

[NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO OH GOD NO]
That's not going to change, Reaver.
[HOW MANY TIMES DOES HE HAVE TO TELL YOU NO OH GOD OH MAN WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS]
no subject
If you insist. I'm sure you know where to find me - and when - should you ever change your mind.
no subject
Don't hold your breath.
[HE WILL NEVER CHANGE HIS MIND GODDAMN]
no subject
[He is just going to tease you forever, if you don't mind~]
no subject
[BECAUSE THERE ARE NO WORDS. EVER.]
no subject
But! You do what you like, Your Majesty~]
Have you any further need of me, then?
no subject
No, I don't.
[...]
Thank you for your advice, Reaver.
[...Not about the egg, obviously...]
no subject
...oh, bloody hell, hold on, apparently you need to have a Moment with him before he can go.]
Of course; I'm always at your service. You know that.
[...and that actually wasn't completely loaded this time. Happy?]
no subject
...And I appreciate it.
[Logan doesn't smile - he's never been good at expressing pleasure or... anything other than anger, to be honest - but it's obvious that he's quite pleased with that.]
no subject
...you're...
...you're trying to have a Moment.]
Noted and appreciated, Your Majesty.
[AND WITH THAT HE WILL BE TAKING HIS LEAVE
BEFORE YOU CAN COMPOUND THE AWKWARD]
