FIRST ORDER ♛ VIDEO
[The video turns on with a chirp of "Snivy!" The Pokémon can't be seen, but due to the fact that the trainer is visible in the frame (well, his legs at least), the Snivy is probably operating the Gear.]
...must be some explanation...
[Logan appears to be speaking to... no one, actually. He's pacing back and forth and after a moment the Snivy adjusts the camera so that Logan can be properly seen. The room he's in is pretty nondescript - though members of Team Rocket might recognize it as one of the rooms in the base.]
[The Snivy, frustrated with his trainer, starts chirping again. Logan finally turns to look at it, frowning.]
What is it? I thought I told you to be--
[He stops, staring at the Gear for a moment. He doesn't look overly surprised - not that he ever expresses anything - but there's obvious hesitance in his voice when he speaks.]
...That device is on, isn't it?
[There's a very happy "Snivy!" in response.]
I suppose there's no harm in asking everyone, then. Does anyone know where we are in relation to Albion? I need to return immediately.
[Is that it? He doesn't mince words, that's for sure. The Snivy shakes the Gear, clearly frustrated. It chirps its name a few more times in an effort to get its trainer to keep speaking. Logan frowns at it.]
You certainly are a talkative one. I do have another question: what is the point of training these creatures?
[That's all he has to say, apparently. Logan waves a hand at the Snivy and after a moment the feed cuts out.]

And there's just something...cute about being on the other end of a, "what is anything even" post.]
Albion must be your home world, yes? Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are likely far far away from it. As in, "you won't be returning there any time soon" far.
[Dist like five people beat you to the punch already.]
[...Except not really, but we'll ignore that for now.]
Yes, it is. I've heard as much from a few other people. You don't happen to know how or why we're here, do you?
[He's beginning to think no one knows what they're doing here...]
To answer that question, he switches the feed to private, then waves the Rocket guide in front of the 'Gear.]
I cannot speak for the non-members, but it seems Team Rocket has dire need for our services. How we and the others were brought here is another matter, one that I do not currently have the answer to.
What all do they need us for? What is this organization anyway?
Team Rocket's goal seems quite simple: dominance over this world. We are here to help them move along toward that goal, and they do reward us for our contributions.
[He shrugs. Obviously he has no qualms working for nefarious purposes.] The perks are quite nice: access to laboratories and technology, a place to stay, and awakening in one of Johto's most populated cities. We certainly have an advantage over those beginning their journey in that backwater town to the east.
[That seems... like a rather ridiculous goal in all honesty. Logan tips his head slightly in thought. He can understand why they would want to take over this world - assuming this world has valuable resources or this organization simply wants power - but it's still a ridiculous goal.]
Just what is it we're expected to do to help this organization?
[Logan honestly doesn't care about what this organization wants to do. This isn't Albion. It isn't his place to interfere. But if this organization expects him to do anything too drastic to help...]
Did you even bother reading the guide? Why must I explain everything that is so plainly written out for you?
[He lets out a very audible sigh. Newbies. Fine, just this once, he'll explain.]
They have missions set up for us to take. Alternatively, there is a bi-weekly quota of Pokemon to capture for the team's benefit. If you go that route, you had better get acquainted with the rare ones, because the higher-ups won't bother with anything else.
...I see.
[...It's rather obvious that he doesn't, but alright, let's not piss off this man any more than we need to.]
Do you enjoy working for this organization, then?
[...Logan is just a very curious individual, Dist, sorry about that.]
But this question is okay with him. In fact, he calms down quite quickly because yes, changing the subject is good.]
I do. Being a scientist, I appreciate the laboratories they have here. I don't believe I've heard of a single public one, which would be a shame for me if I wasn't a member of Team Rocket. My new colleagues have also opened my eyes to the possibilities with Pokemon. It has been an interesting experience thus far.
[Yes he rambles a lot.]
That is unfortunate. I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with the technology in this world; I can only imagine the science is far beyond my understanding as well. What is it you work on here?
[He rubs his chin, deciding if he should elaborate on his projects. This guy is pretty new so he's almost certain that much of it will go over his head.
Ah, what the hell.]
This will make more sense as you familiarize yourself with Pokemon and their types; I am currently researching Psychic type Pokemon. Specifically, their moves. I also have my eye on Steel types, but the former type is my priority for the time being.
Psychics? As in seers?
[Well, he only knew of one seer, but that's the same sort of thing, isn't it?]
What is it about them that you're researching? How the moves work?
If that is what you refer to psychics as, then yes. But your guess is correct; I am researching how they work. A colleague of mine is attempting to strengthen the Psychic waves emitted when a Psychic move is used, and my task is to find a way to harness and measure the waves.
[Despite the lineface, Logan actually does sound interested!]
[But what's in it for you...?]
[Just trying to rise up the rank ladder, bro.]
